Get Involved

A refugee is defined as someone who flees their homeland because of danger of persecution based on race, religion or nationality.  After being forced from their war torn countries, refugees are in need of help, support and community.  MAYA Collection artisans are looking for a safe place to learn, create and contribute in their new homeland.  If you get involved with MAYA Collection, you can help change the lives of an entire refugee family.  You also will find that your life will change too!

Volunteer

We are always in need of volunteers to support our ministry as we impact the lives of our refugee community.  Below are a few ways you can get involved and volunteer your time.

  • Teach sewing skills

  • Help set up outdoor markets

  • Sort through fabric and crafting donations

  • Provide snacks for Lotus Collection meetings on Fridays

 Sponsor

LOTUS ARTISAN EMPOWERMENT SPONSOR

As a sponsor (at $50 to $100 a month) you will provide resources needed to maintain a workspace, supplies, and training for a teen artisan who is participating in the LOTUS Collection Artisan Empowerment program. This program includes artisan skills development, business training, mentoring and discipleship.  Your sponsorship will make a huge difference in the lives of our artisans who are working hard and learning new skills. 

As a LOTUS Artisan Empowerment Sponsor you will receive: 

  1. A special welcome packet, including a bio of one of our artisans

  2. An annual invitation to the “Meet the Artisans” event at the MAYA Collection shop and studio.  This event will include Artisan testimonies, ethnic food and a personal gift from your sponsored artisans

  3. A discount of 15% for all MAYA Collection purchases at our boutique or online

SEWING ROOM SPONSOR

As a Sewing Room sponsor (at $50 to $100 a month) you will provide resources needed to maintain the sewing room where many of the MAYA Collection products are made.  This will includes fabric purchases, sewing supplies and sewing machine maintenance.  

As an Sponsor you will receive:

  1. A special welcome packet, including a bio of one of our artisans

  2. An annual invitation to the “Meet the Artisans” event at the MAYA Collection shop and studio.  This event will include Artisan testimonies, ethnic food and a personal gift from your sponsored artisan

  3. A discount of 15% for all MAYA Collection purchases at our boutique or online
